I’m actually buying mine from a store from ebay. The package includes invitations, envelopes, reception cards, reply cards, and thank you cards. I’m getting 150 of those sets for $150. AND they have a huge selection of designs to choose from. Definitely worth checking out.

That have vegetarian options that may not be so obvious it’s a vegetarian meal?
Like Polenta with wild mushroom, white wine, cream and parmesan. Should we put (vegetarian) next to it or just kind of leave it up to the guest to figure it out? Or maybe have a section under the meat meals that are vegetarian?
Do you mean the reception response cards on which they make their selection and return the card? You could list it as follows:

My wedding is May 30th and my bridal shower is April 18th (no, I’m not throwing myself one). I was planning on sending the wedding invitations in early March, so when should the shower invitations be sent?
I am NOT sending out my own shower invitations. The person throwing my shower is, but wanted to know whether or not they should be sent before or after the wedding invitations.

Is it cheaper to order from a discount site or to get cheap invitations and print them yourself? Doesn’t the price of ink add up also?
We are looking at about 300 invites… also would like to do postcard RSVP’s (to cut down on cost and on wasted paper)… pretty indifferent to anything extra fancy. I am really hoping to get married on a reasonable budget, but still have a nice wedding– that doesn’t look like it was "cheap".
You could have really great invitations by creating your own at a very inexpensive price. Go to CropMom.com at http://www.cropmom.com. to Upload your photos. Make your invitation using them. You can add your own text. There are thousands of graphics to choose from to create your invitation.
For print-quality, you can purchase a JPEG file of your creation (it doesn’t cost much – less than $2) and download it to your computer.
From here you can either print your invitations at home. Or have them printed by a photofinisher such as Shutterfly or Snapfish or perhaps Costco. Your total cost for a very creative invitation would be at a substantial savings.
There is like a year between when they’ve gone out after all, so that’s ok right??
Honestly, I don’t think anyone else will notice except for you, or maybe another bride planning her own wedding. Having said that, I think I’d probably want them to be different. Things change over a year.

I am making my own wedding invitations . There are brown and i thought i would get a paint pen and stencil something on the bottom…where can i find this?
You can get various stencils…
For crafting type of stencils that are mainly used on paper, try your craft store or scrapbook store. They are usually copper stencils but they don’t have to be.
You can also browse the home improvement aisle and see if any of the household stencils have a theme that would work for your invitations.
One other thing to consider is using rub-ons. These are in the scrapbook section and you can find words, phrases and images to "rub-on" to your invitations. Cute.
