where do i go to print my store bought blank wedding invitations?

July 29, 2010

I bought blank invites from Target. i am trying to figure out the most cost effective way to print out my wedding invites… However, I do not know where to look in order to compare prices on printing. would it just be cheaper to print them at home? how easy is that? or just order them online?

I was originally going to print mine myself because i thought it was cheaper, but i found the perfect invites for like less than $80 for 200 of them. That was including colored ink and stuff.

of course they can get wayyy more expensive then that, but check out ann’s bridal bargain’s website.
you can pick the kind you want and it takes you step by step and can even put what you want. it is an AWESOME site.

good luck

Do it Yourself Wedding Invites with the cricut expression?

July 23, 2010

I am getting married next fall and I own a cricut expression. I wanted to try and make some sample invitations and I was wanting some ideas. I need to know what cartridge to use and the layout of some card ideas. Anything anyone can do for me would be so greatly appriciated.

I would try Sure Cuts A Lot software. I bought a copy and I don’t even use my cartridges anymore. With SCAL you can use any font you have on your computer. Which means that if you find a font on Dafont.com or some other free site you can download it and cut it on your Cricut. That alone is worth the price. But now they have a new version that cuts any sort of shape you have as well. It use to be only SVG files but now you can use any sort of shape you have on your computer.

What are all the necessities for wedding invites?

July 17, 2010

you know…
the invitation, rsvp cards…

does the main dish choices go in there (beef, chicken, vegetarian)?

In order of importance ….

The main thing is the invitation itself. Obviously you can’t do without it.

The vast majority of people also order RSVP cards (or response cards). They come with a pre-addressed return envelope. You should put a stamp on it for your guests. The RSVP card can contain menu choices. Make sure to include the reply-by date.

Reception cards are useful in case your reception is not at the same location as your ceremony and it would be too much information to fit on the invitation.

Direction cards or map cards (pretty self explanatory).

Thank you cards. Usually, you can purchase thank you cards that match your invitation.

Further stationery (budget depending of course): menu cards, place cards, save the dates

Where can I find black envelopes for wedding invitations?

July 17, 2010

I need to purchase black envelopes for my wedding invitations. I’d like to have at least the return address pre-printed to save time.

I also need coordinating response card envelopes.

No clue where to find them! Any suggestions?

Listen, the most important thing – the #1 consideration with your wedding invitations is that they be readable and mailable. Black envelopes are not the right choice because it looks so unprofessional to slap labels on wedding invitations. They need to be printed. You’re not going to get a mailable, easily readable invite using black envelopes. That is why most places do not sell them. The standard white envelopes with the black printed on or embossed makes sense because it increases the chances of the invite getting to it’s destination and on time. That’s why you don’t put a difficult to read font on your envelopes as well. I would do white envelopes with a black liner if you have chosen a black invite. Every reputable shop that I know of will not do black envelopes. If you want it to look classy and professional, just don’t. If your heart is that set on black you are going to have to make your own envelopes. You get the paper from a scrapbook store and then use a template to cut out the right sizes. The thing is wedding invites these days come in so many different sizes that you need the custom sized envelopes that go with them not just whatever you can find in a paper store. One idea is to buy just a sample of envelopes from the place where your invites are being printed and then make templates from those. But, then you’re going to need to buy special glue sticks that are made for crafting and won’t pucker the envelopes when you glue them shut.

Has anyone bought custom wedding invites?

July 14, 2010

I can not find the exact type color quality etc. in those big wear house websites. I have seen the custom invites and I’m afraid to make an appointment because of the cost. I’m hoping it will be $800 or less for 50 invites RSVP menus place cards and table tents. NO Programs and NO save the dates. Am I delusional? I’m from California which is probably more expensive.

I actually made my wedding invitations from scratch. I used blank cards and envelopes and bought scrapbooking paper, dried leaves, ribbons and dried rose buds to design them with.
