Has anyone bought custom wedding invites?
March 29, 2010
I can not find the exact type color quality etc. in those big wear house websites. I have seen the custom invites and I’m afraid to make an appointment because of the cost. I’m hoping it will be $800 or less for 50 invites RSVP menus place cards and table tents. NO Programs and NO save the dates. Am I delusional? I’m from California which is probably more expensive.
I actually made my wedding invitations from scratch. I used blank cards and envelopes and bought scrapbooking paper, dried leaves, ribbons and dried rose buds to design them with.

Don’t be afraid to make an appointment. At the absolute worst, you’ll only waste an hour of your time. We got custom invites; we spent around $600 for 100 of them (invites, envelopes, rsvp cards and envelopes). I lived in NY at the time, if that helps.

Here’s a way to save a lot of money: Go to Jo-Ann Fabrics, Michael’s or Wal-Mart even and buy a pack of 50 invitations (it will come with RSVP cards); they will also probably have matching extras. Yeah, you’ll have to print them yourself but you will know they look how you want and only cost you around $25.00. This is the option my husband and I chose after my sister’s ordered invitations/RSVP cards came to her wrong.
