What program to use for designing wedding invites?

June 7, 2010

I am looking for a program to use so I can make my wedding invites myself so save a little money. I am wanting to do a tri fold invitation with pictures of my fiance and I with black and white design of some sort. Any info would be so greatly appreciated.

Thanks

ive seen invites made with word and even power point.

gimp is another program that would be handy and is free but comes with a bit of a learning curve.
photo shop elements is another one that is cheap – it often comes bundled on sony laptops so if you know anyone who has a sony laptop ask them if you can use it. – then if you do get to use it you can make use of all the free photoshop brushes out there

  2. Hi… You really need to check out LCI Paper; they’ll be able to help you with paper, instructions, "how to" etc. http://www.LCIPaper.com You should find everything you need!

  3. If you are hoping to save money, a program like Microsoft Publisher would work, since they have brochure templates that you could quite easily customize to fit your needs-and then you could either print them yourself on high-quality paper, or send it to Kinko’s to be printed on nice paper there. For non-PC folks (like myself), and you are savvy, you could use any Adobe software-InDesign would work brilliantly, since you’d get a lot of control (Given that you know the measurements you want the tri-fold to be).

  4. I did mine in photoshop, but I’m a graphic designer, so I don’t know if you would know how to use it. I would suggest using vista print though, they have tons of designs for super cheap. If you don’t think it’s enough, then buy a pocketfold and mount it inside and tie it closed with a ribbon… that’ll spruce it up a bunch.
